Where I live in Canada you have to be 16 too. I love cars! My car right now is like a SUV but it has a smaller engine so it is better for the environment.
I like Basketball and Soccer, we play Soccer a lot in the summer! Right now it's pretty cold but it is getting warmer soon so we can't wait to play.

Argentina! In my city, Buenos Aires, you have to be 16, but in the other provinces, you have to be 18 to drive. I'm not interested in cars, I prefer public transportation, especially train and subway.
I love to play Soccer!!!! We are a Soccer People! :P I'm quite good as goalkeeper. I'm the goalkeeper of my class' soccer team.
Cheers!

In New Zealand, you have to be 15 to get your Learner's Driver License (written exam), which allows you the right to learn how to drive, i.e. drive in the presence of a person who has held their Full License for more than 2 years. Then, when you are ready (although I think it is compulsory to wait 6 months at least), you can sit your test (driving with an instructor along a given route) to get your Restricted License., which allows you to drive on your own, but not during the night time (10pm - 8am I think). Then, you have to wait another year at least (this is reduced to 6 months if you take a Defensive Driving course) to sit your final test (in car, with instructor, but it is a longer route and the whole time you have to explain what you're doing and the potential hazards along the road) to get your Full License.
It sounds very long, I know - that's why I've only had my Learner's for like 3 years and I still haven't gotten around to actually driving a car at all!! =S

here in australia you have to be 16 to get L plates which are similar to a permit in the US. then at seventeen you can get your P plates which is like a provisional license and you can only drive 90kph (55mph). then once you are 20 you can get a full license. but for motorcycles you can get your full license at 18 so this weekend im buying a motorcycle =)
i like to play a little cricket and my little brother is into aussie rules football so i play with him sometimes

well in India ! one has to be 17 to get a learners license and 18 to get a driver's license...but to drive you just have to know driving....coz if you are not in one of the metros or in states like Kerala where the law is strict ...u can break the law and get away with it..;-).
but sane people of course stick to it. i started driving with an experienced driver next to me when i was 14. but had to wait for 4 more yrs to drive alone.
i dont own a car..but i use my father's car.:-) gettin my own car is goin to take some time ...as thats is not a priority now!
i play cricket , ping pong and badminton ....but i absolutely love football and im waiting for FIFA world cup to happen!!!!
regards:-)

in the UK you've got to be 17 to start driving lessons and we have a theory test as well. lots of people begin studying for that before age 17 and get it out of the way quickly as soon as possible. as for me... i was 19 recently and still haven't even started learning! some of my friends began immediately when they were 17, but i never really had the time with all my youth parliament stuff and things like that; plus it seemed like an extra two exams i really didn't need. hopefully i'll get going quite soon though, don't want to delay that much longer!
sport.... football (/soccer - booo) is the most popular, but we have this weird thing of other ones becoming really big for short periods of time if our national teams are successful. for example, when England won the rugby world cup a few years ago the country went through rugby fever for a few months. the same happened a bit more recently with cricket. and during wimbledon everyone starts loving tennis. football will always be number one in the long term though, everyone goes back to it eventually. i like participating in pretty much any sport, but a few of my favourites are football, tennis, table tennis and badminton...
anyway that was kinda long, sorry! (i actually had to stop myself writing more and making an essay!!)

In France,
you have got to be 16 to drive, and to succeed in the Drive Test : writing test and practical test.
But you have to wait 18 to be allowed to drive a car alone, without any 'adult' (more than 18).
We also have to get 2 test at the age of 12 and 14 to be able to drive small motos at the age of 14.
I learned the highway code (Code la la Route in french...) a long time ago...and I haven't yet plan to get my driver's license! I will add it on my list of things to do for my holidays^^
I don't plan to buy a car because I live in a city where there is a lot of bus, metro, tramway, trains, airports...and there is not a lot of parking places in Paris, there is a lot of birds...and essence is expensive!
Sport...run the sunday morning...karaté (this art is really great)...play for fun basketball, volley ball, badmington...and football, but just for fun^^
The sports that French like better are the Football and the Tennis.
A question : why are you so much people on TIG with hardly the same TIG username?
